Did the condition of man’s will change after the fall?
Adam’s choice in the garden separated Him from God. His choice was to not eat of the tree of good and evil. Once he partook he knew evil, which all of mankind inherited.
17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."
9 Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?"
Scripture tells us that a man must be born again. The immediate result of the fall was a spiritual death for mankind. He is separated from God without a new birth. Only from this new birth can one comprehend and see the things of the kingdom.
3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." 4 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?" 5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 "The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."
Only God is good. Gods’ will alone is truly free. Man was not able to righteously adhere to the laws commands. It took the death Christ and His righteousness to effect change in the heart of man. Those who are saved (or will be saved) are (will be) becoming what their new standing already declares.
17 So He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."
